What happens when Bollywood’s 4 Renowned Movie Makers - Madhur Bhandarkar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Vikram Bhatt and Anurag Kashyap showcase their cinematic brilliance night after night on your television? Starting March 2, Sony Entertainment Television brings an experience for television viewers for 12 week nights, transforming the small screen to silver screen. These highly acclaimed directors are presenting never told before stories on Indian television.

Each story, with finite ending is presented by some of Hindi cinema’s renowned filmmakers. Specials@10 is an attempt to break away from the clutter that is currently on the television thus bringing in the new age content. This mini series will set a new benchmark as far as late night television viewing is concerned.

A brief about the 4 movie makers:

Madhur Bhandarkar:

A film buff since the time he was a teenager, Madhur Bhandarkar started as a Video Librarian in Mumbai. His passion for cinema took him to ace director Ram Gopal Verma whom he assisted for 5 years. In these 5 years he learned the ropes of direction and went ahead to direct his first Hindi feature film “Trishakti” – a run-of-the-mill Bollywood masala flick, which earned him a lot of respect and recognition from all quarters of the film fraternity as a film maker.

Success came in the year 2001 when he directed one of the most hard hitting films based on the dance bar culture in India aptly titled “Chandni Bar”. This film was lauded by critics and went on to create box office records. This film brought to the fore Madhur’s versatility as a film maker and technician. The Government of India recognized his effort by conferring upon him the National Award for his film Traffic Signal.

Obsessed by his inherent zeal to make socially relevant films he went on to make many more realistic films like Satta, Page 3, Corporate, Traffic Signal and the recent blockbuster hit Fashion.

Heroine - Zindagi Ke Panno Se is a series of 12 stories, each about strong and commanding women in their own special ways. These women come from different strata of life and with their grit and passion fight for their beliefs. The treatment of each of these 12 stories varies from classic to contemporary and even real life drama depending upon the story.
