Produced by Shivendra Singh Dungarpur for Dungarpur Films, one of India’s leading production houses in the advertising industry makes its foray into television with its latest project a 12 episode weekly television mini-series Rajuben for Sony Entertainment Television.

Cast List: Harsh Chhaya, Madan Joshi, Rajesh Shringarpore, Raj Arjun, Shernaz Patel, Neeraj Kumar, Vimal Mathre, Chandresh Singh, Ritu Dutta and Shilpa Shukla as Rajuben.

A writer turned director; Vikram Bhatt always knew that he wanted to be a filmmaker. He made this belief a reality with his directorial debut Jaanam. A disaster at the box office, Jaanam made Vikram hungrier to prove that he was a proficient director and storyteller, which he ably did with the super-hit film Ghulam. Whether a success at the box office or not, Vikram's films have always been entertainers for the mass audiences and Vikram clearly makes films with the single objective -- entertainment. His other movies include Kasoor, Raaz, Awara Paagal Deewana, and Footpath among others.

Shurat, Nafrat aur Showbiz is the story of young Sara. Sara catches the fancy of superstar Dev, when he visits her scenic town for shooting. Dev makes tall claims of making Sara a name to reckon with in the glamour world and Sara, completely unaware of the ways of the world falls prey to these false claims. Once Dev returns to Mumbai, Sara follows suit. But Sara’s world comes crashing down when Dev refuses to recognize her. Shattered and heart broken, Sara attempts suicide, but is saved just in time by a doctor. Sara is saved, but her spirit takes a different identity. From here, the new Sara treads her successful journey from a supermodel to a page 3 regular and finally scaling the heights of power, never witnessed by anyone else before. Sara reaches the pinnacle of success yet she yearns for her lost innocence.

Sanjay Khanna, the director of the series, worked as an assistant to Shekhar Kapur during Mr. India and also directed action films like Anth, Shastra & Itefaq. He has also done television episodes for Rishtey, Thriller at 10, X Zone, Krishna Arjun, Yeh Meri Life Hai & Meri Aawaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni. He is currently working at Popcorn Entertainment as the Creative Director and working on a movie for Popcorn Entertainment & A.S.A Films Private Limited.
