Kanica Maheshwari, who plays Rajkumari Bhoomi in ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Barat’ on Star Plus, has been feeling very uncomfortable with the long earrings required for the role. Kanica has been sporting very long earrings from day one for the character and can’t remove them when she wants to because they are tied to her hair. Off the set, she usually doesn’t wear earrings.

“The earrings are freaking heavy,” said Kanica. “I wear them for close to 12 or 13 hours a day and having them for so long is really difficult. But that is the kind of look that the character requires and I have no other go but to be bound to this. I can’t even remove the earrings since they are connected to the hair. Yes, it does affect me and it shows when it requires me to do some movements.”

She continued: “I am the opposite when it comes to dress sense in real life. I am very much like a girl-next-door…very casual and I mostly wear jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t wear any accessories except rings.”

Kanica added: “I have been wearing such heavy, long earrings from day one and it has been almost a year now. It was very nice initially but later got stressful; it has taken a lot out of me and caused lumps on my ears. But anyways, I have got the attention so it is a price that is being paid.”

Well, Kanica should know by now that such issues come with the territory and one must learn to deal with them.
