Girl friends and boy friends aspirational... Image enhancing: Romance is an active aspiration and consuming conversation across tweens of all SEC's, gender and centers. Not only are the tweens talking romance, they are also 'romanticizing' romance.

Parent bonding and bashing – parallel and permissive a sign of new parenting styles: The tweens have found greater openness and freedom with parents. Trendy tweens are both openly complimentary and critical of parents while mass tweens are more conventional.

Tweens have many heroes... but brand bollywood – The new God omnipresent and all pervasive: From the way they talk to the way they interact, feel and emote, Bollywood, for both trendy and mass tweens is God.

Confident image showcasing: Confident showcasing is the way to
be, with the right image tags - confident, chilled, knowledgeable about trends, mature, likeable, competitive and sporting.

Emotional shuttling: Tweens experience an emotional yoyo between
highs of impression and expression, and lows of repression and explosion. Under the veneer of confidence lies a vulnerable tween.

Disney's KidSense has showcased a deep-rooted understanding of the world of kids in the previous two avatars. In its third year, the research encapsulates the truths and trends of tweens aged 8-14 years belonging to SEC A+, A & B and mothers belonging to SEC A and B households across five cities in India. The research was collected between July 2008 to September 2008 across 300 respondents in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Lucknow. The reports were collated based on surveys conducted across four modules - comprising of friendship gangs of boy and girls, trendy tweens (boys & girls), focus groups of mothers with kids and conventional and unconventional kids experts from various walks of tween's lives.
