Yes, you heard it right…and might be wondering why Alekh is donning the avatar of Lord Krishna. Angad Hasija recently became Krishna for a special sequence in Rajan Shahi’s ‘Sapna Babul Ka Bidaai’. It supposedly took him hours to get his body painted before he did the Krishna act. The episode is expected to be telecast on Thursday.
We caught up with Angad and he told us about the experience. “I played Lord Krishna for a special sequence in the show,” said Angad. “And Sara played Radha and there were two kids who represent little Krishna and little Yashodha. The sequence was to convey a message to a few of the family members that there is no difference between fair and dark. It was especially for those who look down upon dark people. The message is conveyed through the dialogues in a proper song that we shot.”
On the makeup, Angad said: “It took nearly three to four hours to get ready as my whole body had to be coloured. And even removing the make-up was a Herculean task as the makeup men had to use oil to do it and that took a whole three hours almost. I thoroughly enjoyed shooting but the only problem was that I developed a few rashes and boils because of the makeup. But overall, it was a good experience and I consider it a great opportunity as an actor. It means a lot to me because it is more than just acting the usual way. I am glad that I have been blessed with trying out various things.”
Angad is also on a high after receiving the best actor prize at the Idea ITA awards. “It is the first time for me and I am flying,” he said. “I really could not believe it. I thought it was a joke initially. But I was not able to make it to the awards as one of my friends, Natashaji, had an accident and I was busy attending to that. But later, Rajan Shahi and the whole team came to my house and presented me with the award with a proper announcement.”
With the exploration of the different facets of acting and an acting award to boot, Angad seems to be going places. We wish him the best for the future!
