Bhavana Balsaver has been around for a while – people love her comedy routines and will always remember her as Chachi from the show ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’. But like other TV stars, she has found some unexpected down time due to the TV workers strike. Tellywatch.com caught up with her to find out what she is up to.
My Monday was... like a Sunday. Since there is no work because of the strike, every day is like a Sunday. I am just busy with my household work; I am finishing some pending stuff and doing a lot of cleaning as well. I am a cleanliness freak by the way.
My weekend will be… I have not planned anything but if the strike is called off, I am hoping to get back to work. Otherwise, I will continue with the cleaning. I was having a back problem and toe pain for the past week, so I got enough rest for that. If the strike continues, I am thinking of going on a five- or six-day vacation to New Zealand or Greece or Egypt. I love travelling and wish I could see th
e entire world in my lifetime.
My favourite TV series…‘Friends’.
If I were to go on a date with a TV star, it would be...Though I am part of Indian television, I don’t watch any Indian shows. I don’t even know any TV star that I can think of dating. I am blank actually… if I have to name somebody, I would date David Schwimmer (Ross Geller from ‘Friends’).
The last book that I read was...I can’t remember because I read a lot. I love reading and am very bad at keeping track of what I read when. I admire many Indian writers.
The kind of music I listen to… I prefer all kinds of music; it is more to do with my moods. At the moment, I am in a retro mood, so I would prefer listening to groups like Abba. I also like the latest Bollywood numbers. I like instrumentals and Spanish guitar as well.
One thing I want to change about myself... I want to be less of a perfectionist. Be it work or anything, I want to keep cool in the way I
handle things so that I feel satisfied at the end of it.
Last movie I watched… ‘Dostana’, it was good fun.
In my spare time…I am a big time movie buff. Every Friday, if I have the time, I make sure to catch up on the latest movies.
Last time I went shopping... It was in Hong Kong in the month of August; I shopped for a lot of condiments. I am not great with shopping – I can spend more than six hours in a mall without buying anything. I don’t feel satisfied unless a product is totally convincing.
Last time I yelled at someone… I am very peaceful and rarely lose my cool.
Last time I cried... It was yesterday morning when I read an article about how people treat animals cruelly. After reading that, I started weeping like a baby. I am very emotional when it comes to animals; in fact, I have 15 dogs and wish to get more of them.
