Babul Supriyo – The story so far…

Apparently a rarity in soundtracks these days... Supriyo Baral, popularly known as Babul Supriyo, is an Indian playback singer. His musical roots traced started from his grandfather, Banikantha N C Baral, who was a famous Bengali vocalist and composer, and further to Rai Chand Boral, who is considered one of the most acclaimed composers, the Bengali music scene has ever produced. Babul got extensively trained in music from very early in his childhood. He won a string of awards in singing all through his formative and educative years in school, college and university and has also performed regularly on radio and television.
Babul yesterday…
~He started his singing career with the Hindi film Prem Yog (1994), with music by Bappi Lahiri. He got his major breakthrough with the song "Dil Ne Dil Ko Pukara" from the Hindi film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000). During the mid-nineties, he slowly but very steadily started making his presence felt in Bollywood by delivering back to back hits including 'aaj meri zindegi mein' (Khiladiyon ka khiladi), O piya piya (Agnisakshi),"Hata sawan ki ghata" (Hello Brother) etc. However, he hit big time with "Dil ne dil ko pukara" (Kaho Na Pyar Hai), where he lent his voice for the "Heartthrob of the nation" Hrithik Roshan.
~Since then Babul has consistently delivered several hits as a playback singer in popular Bollywood movies like Hum Tum, Fanaa, Vivaah, Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya, Hungama, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke, Maine koi Jaadu Nehi Kiya ,Mujhe Kuchh Kehna Hai, Dhai Aksar Prem Ke, Chori Chori, Tera Jaadu Chal Gaya ,Apna Sapna Money Money etc. to name a few.
~Babul's venture into the world of foreign tours and concerts started with a bang, when in May 1993 he toured USA and Canada with none other than the "Big B" himself.
~Babul Supriyo released his debut pop album "Sochta Hun" in 2005 and marked his foray into the `Indipop' genre. The album became a huge success with the title song "Sochta Hun" topping all charts.

The singer who is currently riding a popularity wave on television as well for his excellent performance as a HOST in Sony Entertainment Television's prime time musical reality show K For Kishore and for his highly acclaimed singing in NDTV Imagine's Dhoom Macha De.

Babul has come up with his brand new album titled 'Untitled' released by Universal Music.
